A common belief in gta v modded account players is that having money stolen by hackers will result in your account being banned. Bans are often triggered by an abrupt increase in the amount of cash you carry around. There are ways to reduce the harm hackers may cause if and when it happens. This guide is different from our previous hacker-avoidance guide.

Although a recent update to the in-game anti-cheat feature allows for mid-session bans on hackers, reporting them won't be insta-banning them because that system could be vulnerable to abuse by griefers and trolls, especially when considering that each ban is not negotiable.


If for any reason you decide to risk your life and sit in a lobby with a hacker, there are some safety precautions you need to be aware of. It is recommended switching between sessions, but it's possible that some of you are off your axes. You might come across the "nice hacker" who doesn't crash the lobby by spawning endless Titans or stealing your guns.


Nice Hackers Don't Exist

First of all, there aren't any "nice hackers'. Although they may not be doing anything wrong in the moment, but it is likely that they've snuck into other lobbies to get a laugh before, and will do so again. Hacking is in violation of GTA Onlines EULA and ToS. Bans are issued when this happens.


Do not go into the vehicle.

Although dropping money on you will not result in the banhammer coming down on you hackers could get you banned in different ways. A golden rule is never to ever enter the car of a hacker. Many hack-related effects, including god mode, can be transferred by this method, so if you hop into a vehicle with an invincible driver, you'll be invincible as well. Without the antiban measures that hackers have enacted, you will probably be banned in just a few seconds.


This technique isn't limited to God mode, as any outcomes will result in being banned. The thing with hacking is that, despite all the masking techniques out there no one is foolproof and even the most effective will only be used to prolong the time before you're removed. If any of you think that it's great idea to create a mask of some sort and get into a hacker's car as an easy way of gaining an unfair advantage, you should be aware that you're signing the death penalty for your account.


You're losing your weapons and ammo

Hackers have been known to steal your weapons. The issue can be solved with the simple loading screen. However, you'll reinitialize without any ammo, even though your guns are now back. This means that you'll have to part ways with the firework rockets you love so much. You can also invest money in buying it again.


Session hopping is the ideal way to play. If you've been fighting with hackers for a long time, you should switch sessions immediately. It is not a good idea to shell out money for ammunition that you won't use. Dodging too long will render the situation'set' but if you're swift you'll load into the new lobby with all your weapons and ammo on you.


Beat the Titan Spawners

This tip's evidence is anecdotal however, it is still helpful. (And given the sheer number of GTA Online players, one in ten represents almost half a million per week). If a hacker causes a disruption to the lobby, spawning endless props, try switching sessions as soon as you can.


The idea is that, even although the props are present within the game world, the hardware will be less burdened -- this can even be tested on low-end PCs ambiently. Have an FPS counter on, look out into the distance and see how many objects have to be rendered. Then look down right to the ground and you'll notice significantly better frame rates because of the less objects.


Sometimes, hackers will inject props to your character which persist even after multiple lobby switches. In such instances it is advised to reboot the system, even though switching from singleplayer to multiplayer typically works. However, this has not yet resulted in an exclusion. It's possible that a modified player model may trigger the anti-cheat feature. To protect yourself it is recommended to reboot your entire system.
